EASTPAK, an US brand.
The sole ambition of Monte Goldman was to satisfy Pentagon demands of bags and packs in the 1950s. That’s why he set up the Eastern Canvas Products USA Inc. in 1952 and produced safety equipment, packs and duffelsonly for the US Army. In 1976, Mark Goldman, Monte’s son, joined the company. He saw their military bags in college campus and an idea came to him. The new brand Eastpak was born and was seen on new backpacks named “Padded Pak’r” meant to everyone especially students under the age of 25. Mark presented his new products in a sport commercial salon in Chicago in 1977.

Eastpak are the favorite bags of all Americans but also European students. They use cordurafabrics to provide more quality and hardiness to their products. For they trust on their knowhow, they even dare to offer a lifetime warranty which actually last 30 years because of legal constraints. They were the first to propose colored even flashy printed backpacks for a wilder style in 1985. Their marketing campaigns offersalso provocative ads which helped the brand to be more popular. These ads were first broadcasted in 1994. The most well-liked product they created too is the wheeled luggage. Every traveler can thank Eastpak for this invention because it spares us so many things.

The VF Corporation bought the brand in 2000. Now, Eastpak produces more bags, packs, duffels, travel gear and accessories with two new collections per year around the same philosophy: Eastpak is all about exploring different ways of living, moving and being.
